Google is set to revolutionize the way we learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) with the introduction of its new conference series, Search Central Deep Dive. This series, announced on their Search Off the Record podcast, will feature multi-day events focusing on comprehensive SEO workshops.
The initiative will start as a pilot in the Asia-Pacific region, with plans to expand based on its success. Gary Illyes, a prominent figure at Google, expressed his motivation for extending the typical one-day event format. He believes that a longer event can cover topics more thoroughly, allowing for a deeper understanding and practical application.
Gary explained: “In our current setup, we rush through topics in just 25 minutes. It’s challenging to connect these discussions to practical scenarios like using Search Console or analyzing server logs without adequate time.”
Cherry, another Googler, added, “With more time, we can delve into deeper topics, enhance networking opportunities, and incorporate practical exercises that are often overlooked due to time constraints.”
Topics Under Consideration
The specific topics for these workshops have yet to be finalized. Google is considering input from users during the registration process to tailor the content to the needs and concerns of the local audience, whether it’s more technical aspects of SEO or marketing strategies.
Location and Budget Considerations
While the exact location for the inaugural event is still under discussion, Bali has been mentioned as a potential venue. Budget considerations will play a significant role in the final decision.
Expansion of Search Central Live
In addition to the new series, Google will continue to host its Search Central Live events, now with plans to expand these to more global locations, including the Baltics.
